The work we do at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) matters to our country and the world! The Innovative Customer Experience (ICE) Division is looking for a dynamic leader! We are looking for a skilled Splunk administrator to manage and optimize the ingestion of over 12 TB of data daily from various sources, including servers, applications, network devices, and more. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Splunk, server performance, and networking. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for implementing new features and improvements to enhance our data management and analysis capabilities. Collaboration with the team is key to maintaining the scalability and security of our infrastructure. The successful candidate will also provide technical support and guidance to other team members, as well as to the CSIRT and NSOC teams.
ICE division consists of more than 350 talented Cybersecurity Technical Staff, Solution Architects, and Computer Systems Professionals employees who provide the varied Laboratory organizations with Information Technology experts who design, build, and support their mission-driven technical needs, on the unclassified and classified networks through several different service touchpoints. In addition, optimize the use of information technology, ensure seamless delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring system performance, applying configuration management practices, creating processes and standards for selection and implementation.
Cybersecurity Technical Staff 2 ($92,300-$151,000)
We are seeking a qualified individual with experience as a Splunk Administrator or in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in programming with Bash, Perl, or Python, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. Additionally, experience with server automation and orchestration tools such as SALT, Ansible, or Puppet is highly desirable. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our infrastructure and operations.
Cybersecurity Technical Staff 3 ($112,000-$186,700)

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Administrator with proven experience in managing and optimizing Splunk environments. The ideal candidate will have expert or near-expert proficiency in developing and implementing automation scripts using Bash, Perl, and/or Python to streamline Splunk operations. This role involves collaborating closely with the IT team to integrate Splunk with various systems and applications, ensuring seamless functionality across the organization. The successful candidate will also be adept at troubleshooting and resolving complex Splunk issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining optimal system performance.

Work Location: The work location for this position is telework and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Telework is defined as working from offsite but within 2hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
