SUMMARY:
Assistant Coaches work at the direction of the Head Coach to help run sectionals, lead music rehearsals, assist in full ensemble rehearsals, and attend all performances. They must demonstrate leadership skills both within a rehearsal environment and in a general supervisory role. Assistant coaches may be asked to chaperone students on trips.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises students at performances, rehearsals, and on trips
- Assists in the instructional delivery of the band/dance curriculum
- Assists in preparing the band/other instrumental groups/auxiliary groups for appropriate public performances
- Supervises students at all performances, rehearsals, and on trips
- Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:
- Assistant coaches are expected to possess a unique skill set focused on one or more of the following: drumline, percussion, color guard, dance, choreography, brass, woodwinds, visual, drill, marching, or general coordination.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and write in English.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Must possess necessary skills to deliver curriculum as instructed by head coach
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting heavy equipment
- Maintaining stamina while exerting outdoors and generally strenuous physical activities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Duties will be predominantly in school settings. These settings include band rooms, classrooms, gyms, auditoriums, track, and other recreational areas. This position will require working indoors and outdoors. Conditions for this position include noise, hazards, and other environmental conditions.
