The Front Desk Receptionist plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to the Los Angeles Cancer Network / Compassion Cancer Care Medical Group, an affiliated medical practice of OneOncology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and directing patients and visitors, while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Effective gatekeeping to ensure seamless flow of patients through the facility.
  • Patient registration and check-out processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Collection of co-payments and deductibles, with reconciliation of daily cash reports.
  • Scheduling and updating patient appointments, blood transfusions, and diagnostic tests in accordance with established protocols.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to inquiries, directing callers to appropriate personnel or initiating triage messages for response by medical personnel.
  • Maintaining supplies and cleanliness of the front office, creating a comfortable environment for patients and staff.
  • Ensuring maintenance of patient confidentiality, adhering to strict HIPAA guidelines.
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service skills in the performance of work assignments and duties.
  • Accurate documentation in the EMR system, streamlining communication among healthcare teams.
  • Training new hires on process and procedures, promoting knowledge sharing and growth within the practice.
  • Maintenance of accurate records for all appointments scheduled for providers, ensuring optimal workflow.
  • Sorting incoming mail, verifying patient's insurance information, and updating billing staff as necessary.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others, breaking down language barriers when necessary.

Requirements

  • Great Customer Service Skills, essential for delivering exceptional patient experiences.
  • Medical Terminology-Oncology/Hematology Specific, required for effective communication and understanding of complex medical concepts.
  • Basic computer knowledge, proficiency in EMR systems and other software applications.
  • Previous Oncology/Hematology experience preferred, but not required, as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Fluent in Spanish, allowing for enhanced communication with bilingual patients and their families.

Compensation Information

Base Salary Range: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, competitive compensation reflecting skills, education, certifications, experience, and location.
