About Our Job
Job Description
Monitors and tracks urine specimens for each client in both North County and South County locations.
Data entry and reports (maintains accurate and detailed statistical records).
Stays knowledgeable of lab policies and procedures; helps update as needed.
Maintains equipment and chemical supplies.
Supplies the Court with written and/or oral reports as requested.
Attends court hearings as needed.
Inventories testing equipment and orders all testing supplies as needed.
Work Hours: Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc.: The office hours are 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Hours may be a combination of 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., etc. Occasionally, there will be Saturday morning hours required to monitor drug screens.
About You
Minimum Qualifications: One year of college courses (30 credits) or technical school or six (6) months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification on the program's urinalysis equipment may be required within 90 days from date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in related field or from technical program. Work experience and/or education equivalent combination. Certification on the program’s urinalysis equipment may be required within 90 days of hire.
Job Competencies: Basic knowledge of the legal system, court processes and procedures; knowledge of and ability to operate drug testing machine; knowledge of and ability to follow and assist in development of lab policies and procedures; knowledge of illegal substances and prescription drugs, masking agents, drug retention schedules and levels of substances for testing purposes; knowledge of laws pertaining to probation, corrections, alcohol and drug treatment, and the criminal justice process; ability to organize and prioritize; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to provide accurate data entry; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to handle multiple tasks with deadline requirements; ability to interact professionally and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor, coworkers and the public; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
Subject to Passing CJIS Background Check: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems background check and security clearance.
