What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parking Supervisor-Seasonal position at Los Angeles County Fair Assn Fairgrounds?
Perform a variety of duties involved in the operation and maintenance of Fairplex parking lots and related equipment. Supervises and schedules employees to support the parking operation. Uphold all management plans related to parking and traffic control.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the parking operations, maintain quality control, and respond to event needs
- Coordinate the deployments of parking and lot security staff
- Organize and establish a working schedule
- Assist in the parking operation of all LACFA events
- Assure employee safety
- Address all customer service issues that arise before, during and after an event. Ensure that all complaints are quickly responded to and that guest needs are being met
- Serves as parking and traffic representative during events
- Ensures that the highest level of parking and traffic services are provided to all users of the facility
- Ensures that all parking and traffic personnel are trained and carry out their duties and responsibilities in a professional manner
- Inspects grounds each day and takes necessary follow-up action in this area of responsibility
- Assists in inspecting parking lots for operational issues and works with other departments to ensure readiness of grounds
- Reviews the assignment forms for show events, personnel, and hours worked
- Perform other duties as required
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- High school diploma required
- Three years of previous parking operations experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize projects, duties, and meetings
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while remaining productive and professional
- Requires organizational skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and oral
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB
- Must be able to move around the grounds
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and bend
- Must be able to operate a computer, calculator, and telephone
- Must be able to use a hand-held two-way radio
- Must have a valid California Drivers License and a clean driving record
- Must be able to operate and drive a golf cart
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and every day of the L.A. County Fair
