Description
The Education Coordinator works directly with the Program Manager to coordinate all aspects of Field Trip Programs. They will develop, manage and execute strategies and programs that align with the mission and meet the strategic objectives of the Fairplex Learning and Development Center in the areas of educational field trips. This includes educational programming and exhibitions for people of all ages including agriculture-related field trips, Fair time field trips and other special projects that grow and support a vibrant and educational community. The coordinator will work with teachers to schedule field trips and volunteers who assist on field trip days; answer any questions and offer customer service in reference to field trip programing.
Position roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Plan, develop, manage, implement and evaluate all campus field trip components

Assist with all elements of field trips including registrations, follow-up calls, field trip schedules, coordinating with educators, making curriculum available, promotion to schools, etc.

Oversees proper implementation of educational programs to ensure the highest level of academic excellence

Demonstrates a commitment to Fairplex missions in all work produced

Provide excellent guest service through verbal and written formats to ensure an exceptional experience

Accurately manage computer information and records by imputing and retrieving data to ensure accuracy in reservations and schedules

Ensure field trip materials are accurately displayed and accessible on the website and marketing materials

Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Requires at least two years of professional experience in education. Must be a proven leader, be able to manage several activities and projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under pressure and deadlines. The preferred candidate is an effective decision-maker and possesses an understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices of out-of-school education, resource development and managerial skills. Consistently demonstrate professionalism; possess exceptional communications skills, the ability to speak before groups and strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong computer and analytical/planning skills. Requires organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Hours worked will include occasional weekend work, some evenings and most days of the Los Angeles County Fair.
Salary : $19 - $21
