The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking a Coordinator, Fellows Program for our Advancement department. The Coordinator, Fellows Program works closely with the Director, Individual Giving plan and implement fundraising events and activities in support of the Advancement Department and philanthropic membership program at the Natural History Museum. It is an exciting time as we embark on new journeys of becoming a museum of, for, and with L.A.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Under the direction of the Director of Individual Giving, coordinates aspects of the Fellows program including: events, communication, recognition, site visits or donor tours, special concierge requests, and donor stewardship in order to meet the annual Fellows revenue and Campaign goals.
Supports the Director of Individual Giving in fulfilling membership benefits to members.
Works with the Director of Individual Giving to implement events and their related tasks. This includes and is not limited to advertisements on the web, magazines, or direct mail, securing presenters, speakers, and venues, etc.
Acts as Client to the Special Events department in planning and implementing all Advancement events.
Delivers consistent and timely communication (including letters, phone calls, emails, newsletters).
Implement communication tools to promote the Fellows program that is consistent with the department's strategic goals and aligned with the Museum's brand. Works with Advancement Services to ensure accurate and timely delivery of acknowledgments, for reporting needs, and data management needs.
Updates and ensures the Museum's website is up-to-date and easy to navigate as it relates to the Fellows program.
This position has the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in a related field.
One to two years of non-profit fundraising experience.
Experience working directly with donors, boards or trustees in a nonprofit setting.
Knowledge and understanding of donor database, including updating donor contacts, donations, visits, and other tracking as needed.
Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Must be outgoing and personable and possess the ability to interact effectively with children of all ages, their families, clients, staff and other Museum visitors.
Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
Must be able to work flexible hours including some evenings, holidays and/or weekends.

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience and commitment working with a diverse community. Hourly range for this position is $22.10 - $23.77 based on experience plus excellent benefits. NHMLAC, in good faith, believes that this posted rate of compensation is the accurate range for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws. This is a full time regular, non-exempt position.
