Join our dynamic team at the Los Angeles County Office of Education as an Administrative Services Coordinator! We're looking for an Administrative Services Coordinator to lead and innovate within our administrative units.
The Administrative Services Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, and supervises the assigned staff and operations of the administrative units such as reprographics, mail and delivery services, warehouse services, surplus, procurement, inventory control, and records management.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
- Applicable California Code, Education Code, laws, rules, and regulations
- Principles of organizational and personnel management
- Warehouse operations and management
- Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
- Analyzing & Interpreting Data – Drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative and/or qualitative data
- Legal & Regulatory Navigation – Understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
- Professional & Technical Expertise – Applying technical subject matter to the job
- Safety Focus – Showing vigilance and care in identifying and addressing health risks and safety hazards
- Using Technology – Working with electronic hardware and software applications
- Action & Results Focus – Initiating tasks and focusing on accomplishment
- Oral Communication – Engaging effectively in dialogue
- Writing – Communicating effectively in writing
- Customer Focus – Attending to the needs and expectation of customers
- Relationship Building – Establishing rapport and maintaining mutually productive relationships
- Managing Performance – Ensuring superior individual and group performance
- Allocating Resources – Prioritizing the use of fiscal and material resources to maximize organizational performance
- Project Management – Planning and tracking projects to ensure they are on-time, on budget, and achieve their objectives
- Cultural Proficiency – Modeling communications and interactions that respect and include all individuals and their languages, abilities, religions and cultures
Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
Experience: Three years of management-level experience in reprographics, mail and delivery services, warehouse, purchasing, inventory control, and/or records management.
Additional Requirements: A valid California Driver’s License and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection Process
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a training and experience evaluation and a technical interview.

Candidates who pass all exam parts are ranked according to overall exam score and placed on an eligibility (hiring) list. Vacant positions are filled from the top three ranks. Eligibility lasts for 12 months; however, additional recruitment may occur under a separate bulletin with additional candidates being merged onto the eligibility list.
