POSITION(S): Assistant Principal, Paulding Middle School REQUIREMENTS: Valid California teaching, special education or pupil personnel credential and a valid California School Administration credential or certificate of eligibility authorizing service as a school administrator Recent, relevant educational leadership experiences at a school site Three or more years of successful teaching experience Valid California driver’s license authorizing the use of a vehicle in the State of California For additional requirements please see the attached job description WORK DAYS: 213 days, 1.0 FTE SALARY: Annual entry level salary placement from $117,874 to $138,572 for a full time position; Salary prorated based on actual start date, FTE, and prior experience. Job Description / Essential Elements:
FUNCTION: Under general supervision, to assist in the planning, organization and supervision of the operation of the school and the educational program. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: California Administrative Credential. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree or equivalent; successful classroom teaching; administrative experience; knowledge of a variety of instructional techniques involving the learning process, student behavior patterns, disciplinary techniques, school administration and organizational procedures; ability to communicate with students, parents and staff members effectively. TYPICAL DUTIES: Assist in organizing the instructional program resulting in effecitve learning experiences for all students; counsel with students who are referred for academic and/or behavior problems; communicate with parents regarding student problems; assist classroom teachers to determine appropriate teaching techniques and instrctional materials for use with students; coordinate the testing programs designed to measure pupil achievement; be responsible for activities such as clubs, student council, ect.; maintain appropriate records and schedules regarding all assigned duties; establish and monitor procedures for the selection and requisitioning of books, instructional supplies and equipment; plan and coordinate and supervise instructional aides, teacher assistants and other paraprofessionals and parent volunteers; monitor the activities of student teachers assigned to the school; be responsible for the orientation and supervision of substitute teachers; be responsible for student attendance accounting records and student records; serve as liaison to city-county juvenile services; act as administrator in charge in the absence of the principal; perform other duties as assigned.
