The trainee will participate in class preparing for the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) DMV test and 20 hours of classroom instruction in preparation to test for a school bus driver certificate. Trainings will take place April 14 - April 17, 2025, with additional training the following week (dates TBD). Trainees will be given one-on-one behind the wheel training. Trainees average 30 to 40 hours to become proficient. The total cost for the trainee is estimated at $300 and which includes the cost for: A physical in order to qualify to take the DMV test for the CDL; DMV’s four tests: Class B and C, Air Brakes, and Passenger School Bus Endorsements; CHP’s interview and background check; CHP's two tests pertaining to the rules, regulations, first aid certificate, practical, and the District background check.
