Nevada City School of the Arts (NCSOTA), a TK-8 charter school in operation since 1994, is seeking a dynamic, culturally aware, stimulating and highly qualified teacher to join our elementary school team.
JOB TITLE: DANCE TEACHER SCHEDULE: Part Time - 186 days (175 instructional/11 in-service) Monday-Thursday 7.5 hours per day WAGE: $52,301 to $73,466* (Starting wage dependent on education and experience) *NCSOTA Certificated Salary Schedule Step 1, Class II - Step 10, Class V
SUMMARY: The Dance Teacher is tasked with teaching all types of dance from all types of cultures, educating students in dance numbers for productions, ensuring the health and safety needs of all students in their care are met, preparing students for their performances in a manner that nurtures and guides them, with great consideration for the needs of each individual child and the class as a whole, while supporting the vision & mission of NCSOTA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate the planning and implementation of appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate type and level of materials in collaboration with the classroom teacher. Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement Assess student abilities and achievement as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes and maintain appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes Ensure continuous communication with parents and teachers, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress Communicate with students on instructional expectations and keep them informed of their progress For more information, or to apply now, you must go to the website below.
