Requirements / Qualifications
Dual Language Immersion Teacher- Mandarin (Elementary): Chino Valley Unified School District seeks Dual Language Immersion Teacher- Mandarin (Elementary). Job site is located at Hidden Trails Elementary School 2250 Ridgeview Dr., Chino Hills, CA 91709. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in any field of study (or Foreign Equivalent). Special Skills: Requires California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Bilingual Authorization in Mandarin.
Job Duties: Under the supervision and direction of the Principal of the Foreign Language Academy, provide assistance in the development of the Foreign Language Program (Dual Language Immersion); Provide instruction for content areas such as math, science, history, etc. in target language (Mandarin); Provide instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in target language; Develop immersion curriculum using research-based strategies and best practices; Provide assistance in investigating and recommending the purchase of supplementary materials in target language; Provide assistance with curriculum and assessment development aligned to national and state content standards; Provide assistance with planning and development of Foreign Language Program beyond the school day; Collaborates with colleagues to improve teaching and learning; Work with parents and community members for student learning; Support students in achieving biliteracy in English and target language; Assist with planning, developing, and facilitating staff and parent education workshops related to the Foreign Language Program; Communicate with families; And Assess and monitor students’ academic and language proficiency growth using standard and non-standard assessments. Education level being taught: Kindergarten-2nd Grade Courses taught: Dual-Language Courses (English & Mandarin). Elementary self-contained classrooms, all general academic subjects are covered.
