Job Summary
Under the supervision of Assist. Superintendent of Educational Services or designee, Petaluma City Schools seeks a motivated, organized, creative, flexible and data-driven candidate to lead organization-wide work around data analysis, State assessments, State and Federal compliances, and reporting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply school district policies, laws, rules, and regulations. Familiarity with California state-mandated assessment procedures and State Accounting Regulations as they relate to student attendance accounting and other SIS applications. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, including the preparation of business correspondence, filing and modern office equipment, including knowledge of a variety of software programs and applications including spreadsheets, and databases. Must have or ability to obtain SIS certification. Must possess knowledge of correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, good judgment and poise; take responsibility and use good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority; understand and carry out complex oral and written directions. The ideal candidate is familiar with Petaluma City schools and aligned with the mission and core values of PCS. Requirements / Qualifications
At least three (3) years of broad and increasingly responsible experience with a school district and proficiency with computer programs. Master's degree desired.
Master’s degree desired School site experience desired Strong project, process, or people management skills required Proven track record of strong data management and analysis: High proficiency in Excel-based data manipulation; comfort with relational database modeling and analysis; familiarity with database management tools such as aeries analytics, Illuminate, Ellevation, CCGI preferred Strong analytical and adaptive problem-solving skills. Strong data visualization and analysis skills required. Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus Experience in Continuous Improvement and Community of Practice a significant plus Prior experience developing data strategy and solving data challenges in the specific context of state accountability and assessment standards a significant plus Ability to switch flexibly between extreme detail orientation and high-level strategic vision to deliver accurate and high-quality products Collaborative mindset and strong written and oral communication skills Resilience, strong work ethic and outcomes orientation—demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities under stress and follow through to deliver unfailing excellence, despite tight or unexpected deadlines and circumstances
