SAFE Coordinator
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
SAFE (Siskiyou After School For Everyone) is a youth program committed to providing academic and enrichment activities to youth. Under the supervision of the site administrator, the SAFE Coordinator is responsible for oversight, development, and implementation of the after-school programs and services. This position oversees an annual program budget, directly supervises staff, and is ultimately responsible for all volunteers and consultants who work in the after-school program.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Program Quality
• Maintains program registration and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• In concert with other staff and stakeholders, develops program curriculum and structure each academic year.
• Ensures program includes activities that contribute to the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical well being and growth of each participant.
• Makes sure programs are in compliance with state regulations.
• Helps troubleshoot issues with staffing, participants, parents, etc.
• Secures resources for programs for unique enrichment classes.
• Assures classrooms and other shared school space is well maintained and left as found.
• Together with the site administrator, develops and maintains an annual calendar and schedule of academic, recreational and enrichment activities, which will include quarterly program-wide community outreach activities.
Communication
• Responds promptly and courteously to parent concerns and/or complaints. Immediately notifies school site administrator of parent concerns and/or complaints.
• Communicates with parents/guardians regarding student progress and performance.
• Maintains high visibility at the site of the after-school program.
Human Resources and Staffing
