Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, and manages multiple service units responsible for the operations and maintenance of school financial systems and services functions such as human resources, payroll, credentialing, and retirement reporting provided to participating client school districts, charter schools, agencies, and community colleges of the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
- Federal, state, and local laws relating to school financial services processes and administration, including human resources, financial, payroll, credentialing, and retirement reporting
- Principles and practices of school financial services
- Concepts of systems integration and systems analysis
- Provisions of the California Administrative Code, Education Code, Government Code, and related state laws pertaining to certificated and classified employees
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS applications
- Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
- Critical Thinking – Analytically and logically evaluating information, propositions, and claims
- Decision Making – Choosing optimal courses of action in a timely manner
- Legal & Regulatory Navigation – Understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations

Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, public administration, information systems or a closely related field to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Five years of experience in the administration of automated business systems related to human resources, financial, payroll, payroll accounting, or retirement reporting, including two years of supervisory experience.
Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
Selection Process
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a technical interview.

Candidates who pass all exam parts are ranked according to overall exam score and placed on an eligibility (hiring) list. Vacant positions are filled from the top three ranks. Eligibility lasts for 12 months; however, additional recruitment may occur under a separate bulletin with additional candidates being merged onto the eligibility list.
