Job Summary
The School of Education (SOE) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) is committed to its mission to advance equitable educational systems and practices which are driven by core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion. This this in mind we seek to hire part-time and/or full-time Lecturers beginning the Fall Quarter for the 2025/2026 academic year to teach an array of courses. Applicants will be selected from this pool for one year or a single quarter appointment as needed; some appointments begin in the fall quarter and others in winter and spring quarters. These positions are subject to the availability of funding and, depending on the circumstances, may be taught remotely. Courses may be added to this list as needed to cover one-time openings. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter and may be renewed based on need and performance. Successful applicants may have an opportunity to teach in our Summer Session’s course offerings. Academic offerings include undergraduate major and minor programs, masters programs with multiple specializations, professional preparation programs in elementary, secondary, and special education, and a doctoral program with multiple specializations. General Duties/Responsibilities:
Guided by the SOE equity-focused mission, teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses, depending on the need and the candidate’s experience and availability. Duties will include full responsibility for mission-driven course preparation and presentation, including but not limited to, lectures, preparation and grading of exams, office hours outside of class, advising students, and supervision of teaching assistants or readers if assigned.
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
An advanced degree or a Master’s degree and a minimum of five years of demonstrated teaching experience in Education or a related field.
Preferred qualifications
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or related field. Candidates with ethnic studies background/coursework are strongly preferred.
Expertise in teaching linguistically and culturally diverse students in culturally responsive and sustaining ways.
