ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform complex and technical analyses, design, programming, and support for Information Technology computer, network and/or telecommunication systems.
JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of a Supervising Systems Analyst or higher classification, and technical guidance from a Senior Systems Analyst, the incumbent will:
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain complex computer, network, and telecommunication systems including applications, operating systems, databases, desktop computers, servers, LAN and WAN networks, and process control systems
- Perform specific systems support functions
- Provide second level computer, network and telecommunication support
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, hardware, and telecommunication problems and consulting with vendors as needed
NOTE:
This position may be eligible for telework in accordance with Districts policy; however, regular on-site presence at our administrative offices in Whittier, CA is required to support operational needs.Candidates must possess all of the following:
- A valid California Class C driver license
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
For Systems Analyst I:
- One (1) of the following:
- Option 1: One (1) year of experience as a Programmer Analyst with the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County
- Option 2: Four (4) years of related experience installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining complex computer network and telecommunication systems
- Option 3: Four (4) years of related experience in applications design and programming analysis support
- NOTE: A master's degree in computer science or closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience
For Systems Analyst II:
- Option 1: One (1) year of experience as a Systems Analyst I at the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County
- Option 2: Two (2) years of professional-level experience performing duties equivalent to a Systems Analyst I
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth and demonstrable knowledge of:
- Virtualization technologies and remote access
- Enterprise surveillance systems
- Microsoft: Exchange, Office 365 including administration, System Center Configuration Manager, operating systems including roles
- Powershell
- Enterprise storage appliances
- macOS and iOS
- Knowledge in diagnosing and repairing hardware from multiple OEM vendors with a focus on HPE and Dell, including rack-mount and blade servers
- Administration and support experience with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Network Printing, VPN, NFS, HTTP, SCCM, WDS, GPO, CA, DFS, MAC
- Experience with administering and supporting enterprise COTS systems such as OpenText Document Management, ESRI GIS, VMware, Citrix VDI, Veeam Backup & Replication, SolarWinds
- NAS/SAN storage concepts and administration
- Data security
- Proficient in script programming, troubleshooting and problem solving
- Effective verbal and written communications skills including the ability to present and discuss technical information
- Efficient with time management & organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize multiple, concurrent work activities

- Communicate effectively with various customer groups to facilitate coordination of projects and interaction amongst the customers, team members and other groups in the Information Technology Section

SELECTION PROCESS:
