POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Athletic Trainer aides the LAFC 2 and Academy Athletic Trainers in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for LAFC 2 and additional players in the LAFC Academy. They will serve as the primary rehabilitation resource for both LAFC 2 and the U18 level of the LAFC Academy. In this capacity, the Assistant Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for players' medical problems. This role will work in collaboration with all LAFC medical, performance staff, and under the direction and supervision of the LAFC 2 Athletic Trainer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Directly coordinate and implement rehabilitation efforts for LAFC 2 and the U18 level of the LAFC Academy, assisting when necessary for other levels.
- Collaborates to manage the healthcare and safety of players including, but not limited to : first aid and emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals, including all pertinent best practices with regards to the care of minors when applicable.
- Maintain a complete and up to date roster of player health and participation records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system provided by the League.
- Assist in coverage for all training sessions and matches.
- Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized.
- Comply with all MLS medical policies and protocols.
- Comply with OSHA standards with regards to blood borne pathogens.
- Attend all activities / meetings / programs as required by the League.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
SALARY RANGE
At LAFC, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation package. The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience and training. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the overall range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
