Important Information Regarding Commuting Expectations
Dear Maintenance Technician Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in joining our team. We would like to provide you with some important information regarding commuting expectations, which may vary depending on the business unit to which you are assigned.
For example, if you reside in Los Angeles, you could be assigned to Business Unit #2 or Business Unit #3, and as such, you should be prepared to work at either location as needed. It is important to understand that you may be asked to travel to any of the properties within your assigned business unit.
Please be aware that commuting time to and from work is not considered paid time. For instance, if you live in North Hollywood and are assigned to work in Santa Monica on a given day, your workday will officially end when you clock out at 5 : 00 pm in Santa Monica. While your workday concludes at that point, please note that the drive from Santa Monica to North Hollywood will not be compensated and is considered “windshield time.”
Additionally, due to the nature of commuting in Los Angeles County, traffic can vary, particularly during peak hours or when special events are taking place, such as concerts, sports games, or local shows. As a result, you should be prepared for potential delays and understand that your commute may take anywhere from one to two hours, depending on traffic conditions.
Please ensure that you are comfortable with this commuting structure as part of your consideration for the position.
Attached, you will find three maps to further assist with your understanding of potential routes and locations.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important aspect of the role.
