What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Partnerships Intern position at Los Angeles Sparks?
The 3-time WNBA Champions Los Angeles Sparks are seeking a Corporate Partnerships Intern for the 2025 WNBA season. This internship program is a hands-on opportunity for students to build their work experience and learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a WNBA Corporate Partnerships team. This role will support all aspects of building impactful partnerships, from outreach to proposal development, to pitching and negotiation, and to bringing the partnerships to life. Through hands-on experience and mentorship opportunities, our goal is to provide aspiring professionals with the tools they need to launch their career in sports. This intern position will report under the direction of the Manager of Partner Activation and VP of Partnerships.
This is a non-paid internship and is for individuals who will receive college credit.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist corporate partnerships department with day-to-day needs including graphic design, proposal ideation, and prospective partner research.
- Positively represent the Sparks at partner & community events
- Learn how to build and coordinate Corporate Partnerships working closely with Marketing, Community Relations, and Game Day Presentation teams to ensure strong and impactful partnerships
- Grow professional client relationships by being present on partner calls to assist the partner development and partner marketing teams with note taking, research, and follow-up
- Stay on top of trends and current events inside and outside the sports industry
- Support research and prospecting for business development needs
- Coordinate and oversee premium/promotional item inventory including gifting, new orders, shipments, and giveaways
- Track partner assets and execution throughout the season and capture proof of performance
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Must be enrolled in a college or university
- Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree or are currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution
- Must provide proof that you are eligible to receive college credit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to research on the internet easily
- Strength in building and maintaining internal and external relationships
- Exceptional attention to detail in notetaking and follow-through
- Desire to think critically and creatively, outside the box
- A positive and professional attitude at all times, in both internal relations and customer service
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have availability for majority of Sparks home games
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays is a priority
EXPECTED AVAILABILITY:
- Office Hours – up to 10 hours per week
- Occasional Community and Outreach Hours – 5 to 10 hours a week
