About the Job:
A Strategic Partnerships Coordinator develops and maintains fundraising and donor relations activities to support District-wide programs and initiatives.
Typical duties for this position include:
- Implementing fundraising and donor outreach strategic plans for assigned projects.
- Identifying, contacting, and maintaining relationships with key partners, funders, civic entities, business and community organizations, and other potential partners to promote large scale give back offerings for school sites and District initiatives.
- Scheduling, coordinating and co-leading partnership activities, including meetings, special events, follow-up engagements, and programming to align with strategic plan strategies.
- Serving as a liaison and maintaining working relationships with District departments, established partners, and the community.
- Serving as a resource by maintaining a proactive relationship with District administrators and staff, communities, and partners by providing feedback and information regarding partnership services and coordinating community outreach activities.
- Conducting landscape analyses on District needs and active and potential partnerships and keeps leadership informed of trends and other results.
- Anticipating and tracking key challenges related to civic engagement and advises and provides recommendations on possible solutions.
- Providing information and delivering written reports on partnership activities to Communication, Engagement, and Collaboration leadership.
- Developing content and materials for use in development meetings.
- Maintaining a catalog system of partnerships and resources and their usage to address specific District needs.
- Communicating with established partnerships, including organizations, city officials, non-profit agencies, and other educational institutions to ensure grant compliance and process efficiency.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree, preferably in public relations, community relations, public administration, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferable.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience in fundraising and relationship building with individual donors, partners, and/or business and community leaders. Experience in public sector or nonprofit organizations is preferable.
SPECIAL
A valid driver's license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of California and the use of a motor vehicle, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.

The ideal candidate for this position has a strategic and systematic approach to engaging and maintaining relationships with large, diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders such as District Offices, specific student populations, donors, civic entities, community organizations, businesses and philanthropy to support public education. This includes knowledge of developing systems for monitoring outreach efforts, tracking impact of outreach and ensuring external resources and internal needs are aligned. The candidate will possess experience project planning large- and small-scale events, creating written materials, and public speaking. The candidate will have an understanding of the diverse experiences, resources, and networks in the Greater Los Angeles area. They will be outcomes oriented, energetic, flexible, willing to work on collaborative and independent projects and enjoy working with a team to coordinate across multiple interests and processes. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of district organizations, functions, student populations and an awareness of current events within the Los Angeles Unified School District.
