LEARNING DIRECTOR/ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
Learning Directors are responsible to the school principal.
Among the duties and responsibilities are to:
- Advise students; help them make decisions concerning educational, vocational and personal issues.
- Work cooperatively with parents, teachers, other administrators, psychologists and nurses for the benefit of the students.
- Aid pupils in selecting a course of study directed towards the educational and/or vocational progress; help students become aware of the course of study he\she must follow in order to fulfill graduation requirements.
- Assist students in the transition to future training or education, including making written recommendations, helping in the application process and disseminating educational and scholarship information.
- Act as a consultant to colleagues and the principal in decisions concerning the students’ progress.
- Recommend special activities involving community resources and agencies, when being devalued for the individual student.
- Confer with colleagues, heads of the departments and the principal concerning trends in curriculum development.
- Assists in the orientation and registration of students.
- Assists in the coordination of the School testing program; confer with students and parents concerning proficiency in the basic skills as shown by test results.
- Provide information and interpretation to the school staff and parents pertinent students’ achievements, abilities and educational plans.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate records.
- Assists with budget development.
- Assist with the development and implementation of articulation and orientation programs.
- Assist the principal in planning and developing the master schedule.
- Supervise the administration of testing programs.
- Serve as data processing “coordinator” as it pertains to students’ needs.
- Assist in research and planning guidance inservice for faculties at the school level.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the principal.
