Defensive Coordinator for Girls' Variety Flag Football - Los Gatos High
School Los Gatos High School, located in the beautiful town of Los Gatos, California, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and knowledgeable Defensive Coordinator for our Girls' Varsity Flag Football team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, passionate coaching staff and help lead our talented athletes to success on the field!
Position : Defensive Coordinator, Girls' Variety Flag Football
Location : Los Gatos High School, Los Gatos, CA
Season : Summer 2025 (with potential for future seasons)
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and implement defensive strategies and schemes for the flag football team
Lead and coach defensive players, ensuring skill development in all aspects of the game
Provide guidance during practices and games, fostering a positive and competitive
environment
Collaborate with the head coach and other assistant coaches to align team goals and
strategies
Assess individual player skills and provide constructive feedback
Foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
Maintain effective communication with players, parents, and school administration
Prepare the defense for each game, adjusting strategies as needed to counter
opponents' tactics.
Qualifications :
Previous coaching experience in flag football or other football-related roles preferred Knowledge of defensive strategies, drills, and techniques specific to flag football
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to reach their full potential
Passion for supporting female athletes in a positive and inclusive environment
Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, athletes, and school community
A commitment to player safety and development

All Coaches are paid the full stipend amount at the conclusion of the coaching season. No Exceptions.
All coaches are required to get fingerprint clearance from the DOJ and FBI as well as TB clearance PRIOR to starting coaching. They have 30 days to complete all required certifications, including, but not limited to, CPR / First Aid certification, CIF - Fundamentals of Coaching Certification, Concussion Training and Safety Training.
Appendix C stipend determined by the years of public high school coaching experience - up to 3 years previous accepted.
