Responsibilities:
- Drive School Buses: Safely operate a variety of school buses to transport students to and from school sites, following established routes and time schedules.
- Monitor Student Behavior: Maintain discipline, order, and safety on the bus at all times, ensuring the well-being of students on board.
- Conduct Vehicle Checks: Perform daily vehicle inspections to identify any defects, malfunctions, or need for repairs, ensuring the assigned bus is in a safe operating condition.
- Document Incidents: Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation related to bus operations, bus maintenance, and student behavior, including incidents that may occur during transportation.
Qualifications:
- Valid Licenses: Possess a valid Class A or B license with a passenger endorsement issued by the DMV.
- Certifications and Clearances: Hold a School Bus Certificate issued by the DMV, DL-51 Medical Card, First Aid Certificate, Tuberculosis Clearance, and Department of Justice and FBI Fingerprint Response.
- Skills and Knowledge: Possess knowledge of safe school bus driving practices, provisions of the Motor Vehicle Code, and district policies and procedures.
