Position Summary
Under the oversight of the Lead Maintenance Plumber, perform skilled plumbing work.

Typical Duties
Incumbents install, maintain and repair plumbing equipment and fixtures; repair water, air, gas and sewer systems; install and maintain steam and hot water heating systems; operate threading machines, sewer tapes and cables, and other plumbing tools and equipment; work from sketches, drawings and blueprints to install, connect and repair equipment such as dish and clothes washing machines, vacuum breakers, backflow devices, gas safety appliances, steam tables, lavatories; floor and chemistry sinks, drains, sump and circulatory pumps, hot water heaters and tanks, showers, swimming pools, gas ranges, valves, fittings and appurtenances, and copper, brass, iron, steel, tile, glass, plastic and other pipes and their fittings; repair air and welding systems; requisition materials; inspect equipment, buildings, utility systems or other facilities needing plumbing work; obtain quotes from vendors on equipment, repairs or services to be contracted out, and schedule and monitor the installation of these services; manage / prioritize work orders; estimate time, materials and cost involved; maintain records and reports of material, labor and time costs; perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
EXPERIENCE : Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in plumbing, plus two years of experience as a journey-level plumber; OR , six years of experience as a journey-level plumber.

Experience Requirement : One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement : One year of education is equal to 30 semester units.)
Education must be from an accredited institution.
