Job Summary and Qualifications

• Functions as a clinical expert in assigned specialty services. Coordinates and assists members of the operative team in performance of duties in the specialty service.
• Coordinates instruments, equipment, and supplies of the specialty service
• Assists with surgical procedures in the surgical tech role
• Functions as a member of a specialty team
• Acts as a resource person for others in the department and actively participates in the preceptor role in the training of new personal
• Coordinates special instrument needs between surgeons, SPD, and the OR for each specialty

Qualifications:

• Certification as surgical technician
• Current BCLS
• Completion of a surgical technician program
• 10 years’ experience as a surgical technician, in an acute care hospital preferred
