Overview
Blue Cross Animal Clinic is a progressive, fast paced and diverse general practice located in the heart of Albuquerque (UNM area). We have a wonderful staff, great clients and offer excellent, compassionate veterinary care. Our team is growing and we want to add a motivated, kind and experienced technician assistant.
We moved into our brand new state of the art, 9000 sqft building in July of 2023. We have 12 exam rooms, 2 surgery suites, and a dedicated dental area.
Our clinic is locally owned by a single owner and we aim to serve the people and pets of our city. Staff well-being and work/life balance are top priorities. We offer numerous benefits from health insurance to matching 401K retirement plan, paid parental leave.
We aim to attract the best candidates, pay them well and keep them happy long-term! Our support staff work a set schedule of 4 days a week, 7:20am-5:30pm, with every weekend off.

Responsibilities
- Assist technicians during technician appointments.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments, cleaning of examination rooms and laundry.
- Handle laboratory samples for testing and assist with X-Ray procedures when necessary.
Skills
- Experience working with animals in a shelter or hospital setting is required.
- Understanding of basic veterinary practices and terminology is a plus.
- Capability to safely handle animals using effective restraint techniques - Fear Free experience is a huge plus!
