Cashier

LOS TACOS No. 1 is an expanding group of restaurants with multiple locations in Manhattan that serve Mexican tacos in a vibrant atmosphere. The company began after three close friends from Tijuana, Mexico, and Brawley, CA realized the need for truly authentic Mexican tacos on the east coast. At LOS TACOS No. 1 we are passionate about making all the guests feel that they have been transported to Mexico when they enter our restaurant.

The Cashier position is an essential role at LOS TACOS No. 1, they are the friendly welcome inviting new  and regulars guests back to enjoy the best tacos in the east coast. Cashiers should have strong communication skills and attention to details. Our ideal candidate will be bilingual (speaking both English & Spanish). 

Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Greet the customers with “ Bienvenido’s” and a smile 
•  Entering food orders using cash register POS System
•  Handling Cash and credit transactions. Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each work shift, Accept cash and return the correct change.
• Maintain a well-stocked salsa bar, drink cup lids, and napkins before and after shift, Clean dining room, and cashier station
• Maintain beverage fridges stocked and clean
• Upsell products Sides, Drinks, Aguas Frescas, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant and follow all food safety and Health & safety guidelines
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Take pride in serving guests and providing exceptional customer service 
•  Completes other duties as assigned by the MOD( Manager on Duty)

Qualifications & Skills

• Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in sales
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in a customer service role is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Good math skills
• Basic PC knowledge 
• Ability to handle cash and credit transactions
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Able to Lift 30 lbs.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize task
