About the Club
Founded in 1999, Lost Dunes Golf Club is one of the premier golf clubs in the Midwest. Consistently ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top golf courses in the country. The club is located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan (approximately 90 miles from downtown Chicago) and is set dramatically in a former sand quarry with towering dunes surrounding the 255-acre property. In addition to the 18-hole championship Tom Doak designed golf course, the club also has a full-service clubhouse with locker rooms, indoor and outdoor bars as well as dining facilities for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, on property are a resort style pool with 25-yard swim lanes and 5 on-site cabins offering overnight accommodations for up to 40 people (20 rooms).

Hospitality Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Supervise: Servers, bartenders, and pool attendants
Job Summary
The Club’s Hospitality Manager should possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven track record in the hospitality industry. The Manager will be responsible for the Club’s dining services throughout the Club. The Manager hires, trains, and supervises subordinates and ensures that the wants and needs of Club members and guests are consistently exceeded. Additionally, assures a high level of hospitality and service from all personnel while ensuring the appearance and cleanliness of the dining facilities are of the highest standard. The ideal candidate excels in managing people, fostering a culture of trust and mutual respect, and creating engaging training programs that enhance team performance.
Job Responsibilities
· Oversees daily dining operations
· Manages and maintains the point-of-sale system
· Effectively forecast operation needs
· Attends staff meetings and coordinates pre-shift meetings
· Primary duty is management and leadership; however, they may be required to fill in as a server, host, busser/runner, bartender, etc. to back-up staff during peak periods or when short staffed
· Works closely with administrative/ front desk staff in managing dining and event reservations as well as updating food and beverage menus
· Lead efforts to foster a positive and enjoyable work environment through dynamic training programs and collaborative leadership
· Coordinates with the kitchen and other departments to ensure efficient service and member/ guest satisfaction
· Hire, train, and manage all dining room and bar staff, including servers, bartenders, pool attendants and support staff
· Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented
· Monitors employee records to minimize overtime and keep labor costs within budget
· Address member and guest concerns and keep the General Manager appraised of situations and corrective action taken
· Develops an operating budget for each of the department’s revenue outlets; monitors and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budgeted sales and cost goals are attained
· Develops capital budget for all necessary dining related equipment and recommends facility renovation needs
· Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed
· Comprehends budgets, daily sales reports and payroll progress reports
· Monitors and orders inventory and uniforms
· Performs other duties, as assigned to meet business needs
Education and Experience
· Prior experience in Private Club(s), in a management role is preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management is preferred
· Dining and strong beverage knowledge are required
· Alcoholic beverage certifications are required
· Strong understanding of quality food and beverage operations
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· A strong desire to be visible to our membership and provide optimal member service
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to work a variety of shifts as needed (i.e. day, night, weekend, and holiday). During the months of June-October, 6-day work week including all club sponsored events and tournaments
