Responsibilities
External Business Development (80%)
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing clients.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and industry professionals.
- Create and execute action plans to engage targeted clients and professional service providers.
- Participate in local business and community organizations to strengthen industry presence.
- Provide leadership in problem resolution and gather client feedback for continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends and identify potential clients and projects for short- and long-term growth.
Business Development Strategy (20%)
- Develop and implement business development plans to meet annual sales and client retention targets.
- Lead proposal efforts, client presentations, and market positioning strategies.
- Manage business development budgets, track expenditures, and analyze ROI.
- Organize and lead client and market-specific meetings, reports, and strategic planning sessions.
- Maintain market and competitor intelligence to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on branding, messaging, and public relations efforts.
- Track business development activities and relationships using CRM software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 7 years of experience in business development within the AEC or professional services industry.
- Proven track record in securing new business and managing client relationships.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic growth plans.
- Experience managing budgets and tracking business performance.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
