This position will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of our TPA / MGA and QA audits over all applicable programs within The Fortegra Group (TFG). This role will routinely interact with senior leadership, involve compliance and audit consulting, implementation, training, monitoring, investigation, remediation, and / or reporting. Given the growth and scope of audits, this role is critical to the Fortegra team and requires a high degree of engagement, effective communication, superior multi-tasking and time management, and proactive leadership.
Qualifications :
- Property and Casualty insurance industry experience with knowledge of applicable functions such as claims, sales, underwriting, and / or premium administration preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of proven audit / compliance experience highly preferred.
- Insurance related compliance experience in risk assessment, testing, and monitoring including knowledge of business processes and technologies desired as well as familiarity with P&C regulatory environment.
- Four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience preferred. P&C industry and / or compliance professional designation, certification, or memberships preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pivot focus as needed among various audits and related tasks.
- Demonstrate adoption of a growth mindset and focus on continuous learning and improvement.
- Proactively promote teamwork and individual contribution. Support team members to ensure solid understanding, engagement, growth, and overall job satisfaction.
- Serve as “go to” leader for TPA and QA audit team and internal partners. Collaborate with all parties to determine and develop sound practices and processes where appropriate. Build effective formal and informal communication channels.
Primary Job Functions :
Effectively manage all aspects of the TPA and QA audits, including but not limited to program research, regulatory research, introductory and ongoing communication, audit program / template development and adherence, report and work paper review, inquiries, organization, remediation, and distribution of information. Demonstrate proper judgement and effective decision-making.Responsible for assigning audit work and keeping track of progress on all audits on a frequent basis, ensuring all team members have a full understanding of requirements, expectations, and timing.Able to be relied upon to independently lead and manage the TPA and QA audit function with minimal supervision. However, it is key to communicate issues, questions, and challenges in a proactive and timely manner.Identify root cause of deficiencies and proactively assist in resolution where possible.Able to practice effective time management and high attention to detail.Demonstrate strong analytical, research, organizational, and project management skills. Be a strong contributor, stepping in to perform audit work as needed to support team. This includes proficiency in testing and compiling workpapers in an efficient and effective manner.Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task, at times having to pivot throughout the day to work on varying priorities.Using knowledge and understanding of audit requirements, work with leadership and team to continuously improve and develop innovative approaches to streamline the audit process where possible.Serve as primary point of contact for anyone internal or external to the organization seeking guidance with respect to TPA and QA audits. Work effectively and proactively with other contacts internal or external to the organization to address audit matters.Effectively perform functional and operational duties with to achieve quality TPA and QA audits in a timely manner. Functional duties include day-to-day performance, oversight, and support provided to leadership and the team. Operational duties include ensuring audits meet requirements and expectations, yielding high quality work.Ensure audits are completed within established timeframes. Delays should be minimal and justified through communication and agreement with leadership.Understand the purpose and scope of work with respect to TPA audits and QA audits. This entails in-depth comprehension of all steps of the audit programs and templates, including underlying concepts / requirements, data systems / sources, processes, person(s) responsible, and ability to determine appropriate compliance through testing methodologies.Proactively lead, train, and monitor team member work to ensure work is high quality, timely, and meets all audit requirements. Additionally, work closely with external partners to ensure continued audit progress and ensure all issues / clarifications / requests are addressed accurately and timely.The above cited duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to the job.
