Job Summary:
The Non-Medical Caregiver is responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, ensuring their safety and well-being in a non-medical capacity. This role requires providing emotional support, companionship, and physical assistance while respecting the privacy and dignity of the individual in their care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance: Aid with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients with walking, transferring from bed to chair, or using mobility aids.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, offer emotional support, and encourage social interaction.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform basic household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and making beds to ensure the environment is safe and comfortable.
- Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take their prescribed medications at the correct times (note: this does not include administering medication).
- Transportation Assistance: Assist with transportation to appointments, errands, or social events.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Observe the client’s physical and emotional condition, and report any changes to family members or supervisors.
- Provide Respite Care: Offer family caregivers a break by providing consistent care to their loved ones.
Qualifications:
- Previous caregiving experience is a plus, but not required.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to assist with mobility and perform physical tasks.
- CNA NOT required.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible hours based on client needs, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
- May require travel to different client locations within a designated area.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, or assist clients with mobility as needed.
- Ability to stand, bend, or sit for extended periods.
- Good physical stamina and endurance.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
