Job Summary:
The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintenance work for facilities and equipment within the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems within the facility
Troubleshoot electrical issues and determine the root cause of problems on equipment within the facility
Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, managing drawings and manuals for facilities and equipment in the plant
Install, calibrate, and test electrical components
Fabricate and assemble electrical parts and systems, manufacturing and supply of parts for facilities and equipment in the plant
Conduct field service visits to diagnose and resolve electrical problems
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to ensure efficient operation of electrical systems
Record keeping of work-log
Responsible for installation of equipment and expansion of facilities.
Manage and maintain jigs, tools and spare parts.
Power usage measurement and reporting out daily, monthly, and yearly
Manage power and communication line
Keep a clean workplace throughout the facility
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of air compressor, HVAC, cooling tower, PLC, control panels, fire protection equipment and other equipment within the facility
Any other duties and tasks as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication, team orientation and presentation skills
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point, etc.)
Safety and Quality oriented with a solution-oriented mindset
Ability to problem solve with planning skills
Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
Ability to fabricate and assemble electrical parts according to specifications
Ability to detect and diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing equipment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
Knowledge of electrical calibration techniques to ensure accurate measurements
Solid understanding of electrical principles, codes, and regulations.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required
Experience working on electrical components of machines is required
Strong mechanical knowledge to understand the interaction between electrical components and machinery is required
Experience in field service work, preferably in an industrial setting
Experience as an Industrial Electrician is preferred
Experience with Siemens PLC is preferred
Technical degree or certification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time
Must be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and climb stairs frequently throughout each day. There are times when you will need to walk throughout the manufacturing plant floor or walk between buildings, which includes but is not limited to walking outside, walking up and down stairs, walking across metal grates and potentially being in contact with slippery surfaces.
