PURPOSE OF POSITION :
A Lead Cook takes care of practical operations and carries out all technical tasks in the kitchen. He / she establishes an organic relationship among employees and takes charge of one of the many sections in the kitchen.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE :
EDUCATION : Relevant associates or higher preferred
EXPERIENCE : Cooking experience of 2 years or more
CREDENTIALS : Culinary certificate a must and / or leadership experience is a must.
- Must speak English fluent enough to be able to deal with customers and present menu
- Must possess extensive knowledge of the food and contemporary American cuisine
- Must possess the ability and skills to create new menu items in keeping with the general trend
- Must be an excellent communicator and team player.
- Must be able to manage personnel well.
- Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office
- Must demonstrate the ability to multitask
- Must demonstrate an understanding of, and skills to use, kitchen facility, utility, equipment and kitchenware
- Must know applicable laws regarding food safety and general kitchen operation
- Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
- Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule : weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime when needed.
