Mental Health Pracitioner Specialist Job Summary ( Female preferred)
Lotus Care LLC is recruiting a Mental Health Pracitioner to join our team of independent living skills / In-Home Support services
Location: - St Francis, MN ( PT 3pm-11pm) ( Lead-Coon Rapids)
Starting Pay: $26 per hour (based on experience)
St Francis Shifts : 2pm-10pm/3pm-11pm ( Evening shifts)
Coon Rapids e/o weekend
A mental health technician, also called a psychiatric technician, is a healthcare professional who provides direct care to individuals with mental health conditions, observing their behavior, assisting with daily activities, facilitating therapeutic activities, and reporting any changes in their mental state to the treatment team, all under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals; their primary role is to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in a mental health setting by monitoring their condition, providing emotional support, and assisting with treatment plans.
Mental health technician Essential duties
- Regularly assess patients' mental and physical health by observing their behavior, mood, and documenting any significant changes. Clients will need to be supervised 24/7 and when on shift.
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct data collection and analysis to track progress and outcomes.
- Assist with crisis management and mental health support as needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, lead recreational activities, and participate in individual therapy sessions as directed
- Respond to crisis situations (responding to suicidal crisis) by utilizing de-escalation techniques and reporting critical incidents to the treatment team.
- Medication Administration (May administer medications under the supervision of a licensed professional, monitoring side effects and documenting dosage.)
- Maintain detailed patient records, including observations, interventions, and progress updates, and communicate effectively with other healthcare team members, patients, and families.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
- Ability to follow behavior intervention plans and implement strategies effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to collect data accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and ability to take vital signs if required.
- Familiarity with special education practices and principles is a plus.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Independent Living Skills Essential Duties
- Become an advocate for the people served.
- Promote mental and physical well-being of persons served.
- Assist with Activities of Daily living.
- Encourage proper behavioral development
- Help clients participate in activities of their choice, respects client’s personal beliefs, choices, and interests.
- Provide one-on-one or training in daily living skills, including cooking, bathing, medication administration, budgeting, and other skills
- Provide crisis intervention counseling as needed
- Advocate for affordable and accessible housing, employment opportunities, and adequate and accessible transportation.
- Undertstand various benefits systems, such as vocational Rehabilitation, Medicare, social Security and be able to assist consumers in navigitating these systems.

- Current Driver's License, auto insurance, and a clean record
Preferred :
Bachelor in Mental health education or Mental Health certification
Must have a reliable transportation
