General Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusions to patients in a safe and supportive environment. This role requires close collaboration with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care. Oncology or IV infusion background preferred.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks:

Clinical Practice:
Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other intravenous medications according to established protocols.
Monitor patients during infusions, managing adverse reactions and side effects.
Educate patients and families on chemotherapy treatments, side effects, and post-treatment care.
Perform patient assessments, including reviewing lab results, checking vital signs, and evaluating patient health before, during, and after treatment.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with practice policies and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with oncologists and the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans based on patient responses.
Adhere to infection control standards and safety protocols in handling hazardous medications.
Provide emotional support and counseling to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with new treatment protocols and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.; BSN preferred. Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
- Minimum One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
- Member of a professional organization.
- Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.
- Oncology or IV infusion background preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation systems.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Additional Information:
The rate is negotiable based on experience.
Salary : $35 - $50
