Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in performing examinations, surgeries, and treatments on animals.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and ensure proper care of the equipment.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
- Monitor animal recovery during anesthesia and post-operative care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including sterilization of instruments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dog handling and animal restraint techniques.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and basic laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent infection during medical procedures.
- Proficient in animal catheterization and administering injections or medications.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals with a commitment to their welfare.
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory.
