Position Summary
Lotus Village Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and compassionate Physical Therapist to serve as our Director of Rehabilitation and lead a skilled therapy department. This role is centered on overseeing the delivery of high-quality physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, with a strong emphasis on restoring residents’ mobility, function, and independence through exceptional physical therapy care. The ideal candidate will bring a solid clinical background in physical therapy, proven leadership abilities, and a deep commitment to person-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations of the rehabilitation department with a clinical focus on physical therapy outcomes.
Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and therapy assistants.
Coordinate therapy services in partnership with nursing, medical, and administrative staff to ensure cohesive resident care.
Ensure timely, accurate documentation that meets regulatory, clinical, and billing requirements.
Guide the development and implementation of individualized physical therapy treatment plans, along with other therapy disciplines.
Monitor therapy performance, clinical outcomes, and compliance with facility quality initiatives, particularly in physical rehabilitation metrics.
Mentor staff through education, coaching, and evaluations to foster growth and high standards of care.
Uphold compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
Communicate with families, physicians, and care partners regarding physical therapy progress and resident care goals.
Promote a positive, respectful, and resident-focused culture across all therapy services.
Qualifications
Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of North Carolina (required)
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility, with a strong focus on physical rehabilitation
At least 1 year of leadership or management experience within a rehabilitation setting
Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, MDS processes, and reimbursement practices specific to physical therapy
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to lead with compassion, professionalism, and a focus on physical function and quality of life for residents
