We are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Superintendent to join our team on-site, supporting a high-performance data center project. In this role, you will lead all aspects of the mechanical scope, ensuring that field installations conform to design specifications, building codes, and client expectations. The Superintendent will work closely with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and commissioning agents to support safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all mechanical trade activities on-site, including HVAC, chilled water systems, plumbing, and equipment installation.
- Monitor and verify that mechanical systems are installed per design documents, code requirements, and safety standards.
- Interface with project stakeholders including clients, engineers, commissioning agents, and specialty subcontractors to coordinate work and resolve field issues.
- Review and respond to RFIs and submittals, ensuring timely resolution aligned with project goals.
- Conduct regular field inspections and punch walks to verify installation progress and quality.
- Collaborate with the project management team to track schedules, resolve conflicts, and maintain productivity.
- Support start-up and commissioning efforts, ensuring systems are tested and documented appropriately.
- Enforce safety compliance and promote a culture of safety among mechanical trades.
- Maintain clear documentation of work progress, inspections, and issue resolution.
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience supervising mechanical trades on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, chilled water, etc.) and relevant building codes.
- Proven experience with issue resolution and coordinating among multiple trades and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, RFIs, and submittals.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills in fast-paced construction environments.
- Experience working with commissioning teams and supporting system start-up.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred, but not required.
- OSHA 30
- Proof of education, licenses and certifications will be required where applicable.
