We are seeking an experienced RHK Superintendent to join our team in Sparks, Nevada, to lead and assist in the construction, startup, and troubleshooting of our kiln systems within the battery recycling facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kiln operations, mining, millwright work, and industrial processing. This role requires expertise in high-temperature process equipment, the ability to interpret and review technical drawings, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily construction activities in the construction of the Rotary Hearth Kiln (RHK), ensuring schedule, budget and quality are aligned with client expectations.
- Coordinate construction activities to ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and specifications.
- Lead interdisciplinary coordination efforts and collaborates closely with other disciplines to ensure delivery of a complete, approved, coordinated scope across a project.
- Develop, manage, and report out construction schedules, tracking milestones through to project completion.
- Lead and mentor trade partners, and other construction team members, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure high-quality installations and compliance with project standards and industry regulations.
- Enforce safety policies and protocols to maintain a safe construction site for all personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other superintendents to resolve issues, streamline workflows, and achieve project milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, changes, and daily reports to support effective communication and project transparency.
- Identify and address potential challenges proactively to minimize project delays or cost overruns.
- Any other duties that may be assigned to your role.
Skills Required:
- 5 years of experience in kiln operations, industrial processing, mining, or millwright work.
- Strong knowledge of high-temperature processing equipment (e.g., rotary kilns, furnaces, refractory systems).
- Ability to read, interpret, and review technical drawings, blueprints, and process flow diagrams.
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting, process optimization, and maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems, automation, and kiln instrumentation is a plus.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team.
- Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and process efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or other drawing review software.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
- Millwright certification or relevant trade experience.
- OSHA safety training and familiarity with environmental regulations for industrial processes.
- Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
