Position Description:
To construct, test, and repair prototype gas or solid-state laser devices, according to engineering layouts and specifications, following instructions for electronic circuits. Analyzes test data and reports results to project engineers.
Essential Functions:
· Providing customers with the finest parts possible by operating and maintaining the tube laser-cutting machines.
· Fabricating high quality parts by setting up, loading/unloading, producing and packaging laser-cut tube steel parts.
· Cutting a wide variety of customer parts in various sizes, shapes and metal thickness
· Ensuring finished parts meet Lou-Rich standards.
· Working with a high degree of efficiency, skill, and quality to help keep customer costs reasonable.

Requirements
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED certificate required.
· One to two years of experience working in the actual construction of laser devices. Part of this may be part of a work-study program as long as actual working conditions are used in the training program.
· Ability to accurately read drawings and specifications.
· Ability to learn at a fast pace
· Experience operating machinery or working with metal is preferred.
Lou-Rich Training Requirements:
· Applicable training will be completed by following the syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS - Timeclock, IFS - Navigation, ISO) for each new hire and that will be verified by the Employee Orientation & Job Qualification form within the first 60 days of employment.
· Applicable training will be completed by following the Assembly or Press Room Training Matrix (F4400-35 or -041). The effectiveness of assembly training guidelines will be determined by employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts. Additional training after the first several weeks of on-the-job training will be determined by the Supervisor in preparation to operate on their own as needed. Any follow-up training will be evaluated and provided at the 60-day review or as deemed necessary for the position.
