This newly created position was established to better align the Department’s operational support programs. The Internal Services Division is a fast-paced, results-driven team that provides essential services to all County departments in the areas of surplus property, records management, and the County’s mailroom operations. The successful candidate for this full-time position relies on a collaborative approach to problem-solving and serves as a working manager of a dedicated team to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused service delivery that aligns with the County's strategic goals. This position directly supervises two managers and indirectly supervises a staff of 16 full and part time employees.
As Division Manager, you will set goals for the division, monitor productivity, and implement policies, programs, and procedures to achieve operational excellence. Key responsibilities include managing and analyzing program data, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining accurate documentation, and responding to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will prepare and manage the division’s annual budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure operations stay within budgetary constraints.
This role emphasizes engaged leadership, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative and professional growth-oriented culture. This position will address staffing and personnel matters and ensure compliance with County policies and training standards. The Division Manager will also play a vital role in supporting the department’s strategic planning efforts, aligning division objectives with the County’s long-term goals.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and organizational skills, experience managing diverse programs, and a proven ability to oversee budgets, analyze program effectiveness, and implement process improvements.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule in accordance with the County’s telework policy.
Salary is commensurate with experience.Bachelors Degree in Business, Public Administration or related area; four (4) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including one (1) year in a supervisory or management role preferably in a government setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer professional/management certification in areas related to the assigned department and active membership in job-related professional organizations.The successful candidate will undergo criminal, credit, and DMV record background checks; must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
Subject to recall and/or being held beyond the scheduled workday if required by County or departmental requirements. Respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive. This position is considered "essential."
