Loudoun Medical Group (LMG), one of the largest and most diverse physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Virginia, is seeking a medical billing specialist to support a busy eye care center with offices in Virginia.
General Medical Billing Specialist responsibilities include:
- Bills all insurance claims to the correct insurance carrier with the proper information to ensure timely payment of claims.
- Makes all necessary corrections/changes in the system to ensure timely payment of claims.
- Answering phone calls from patients regarding medical bills.
- Acting as a liaison between patients and medical offices in resolving issues with billing.
- Serves as a resource for other staff and physicians on billing matters.
- Assists patients in a customer friendly manner to resolve billing issues.
Job Requirements:
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills
- Must be able to work independently and on a team
- Must have problem solving skills
- EMR experience preferred (Pulse and/or ECW)
- Professional demeanor
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) not required but a plus
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience with medical billing, Preauthorization's, claim denial, medical terminology and computer skills.
- Core Competencies: Attention to detail, team player, positive attitude, and professional communication both verbal and written.
