Senior Social Media Specialist
JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Social Media Specialist will report to the Social Media Department Manager and work directly with our organic social team to develop comprehensive social media content and strategies that increase our client’s traffic and brand awareness.
As a Senior Social Media Specialist, you present yourself as a jack-of-all-trades, understanding how to create organic content that ensures internal and external social media accounts are aligned with approved marketing strategies and business goals. Additionally, you should be a mentor to our Organic Social Media team, teaching them the best practices for analyzing data to create successful organic strategies and content.
You will also have secondary responsibilities in the Influencer Marketing Department. You will take the lead in building and executing influencer marketing strategies for our diverse client base across a wide range of industries. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, this role requires a creative, data-driven individual with a strong understanding of the influencer landscape. You will be responsible for developing influencer marketing campaigns from start to finish, including influencer identification, outreach, contract negotiation, campaign execution, and performance analysis. In this client-facing role, you'll collaborate closely with our Organic Social Media and Campaign teams, ensuring campaigns are aligned with overall marketing strategies and objectives. You will also play a key role in building out and selling influencer marketing services to our clients, helping them understand the value of influencer partnerships in driving engagement, brand awareness, and sales.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (90% of work week)
- Manage several high-level social media accounts
- Create organic social media strategies to achieve marketing targets and overall marketing goals
- Plan and execute social media campaigns, contests, and promotions to increase brand visibility and drive user engagement
- Mentor a team of social media coordinators and their assigned accounts
- Manage, create, and publish original, high-quality content for the social media accounts you manage
- Oversee company social media accounts, ensuring up-to-date content
- Liaise with writers and designers to ensure organic content is informative, appealing, and on-brand
- Collaborate with our SEO, paid social, and digital marketing teams to ensure that our organic strategies are aligned with our digital marketing efforts
- Facilitate client-company communication (respond to queries, get reviews, be on client calls as needed, correspond via email with the client as needed)
- Prepare quarterly organic reports to share with our clients
- Analyze quarterly organic social performance with digital reports for each account and suggest strategies for improvement if necessary
- Stay up-to-date with social media best practices
- Create and present content and strategies to clients on calls as needed for social accounts you manage
- Review content and strategies of the social media team and make recommendations if needed
- Audit client accounts and make content strategy recommendations for email marketing and web to empower integration across all content channels
- Work closely with creative and other departments to request graphic design, video, and animation
- Develop and maintain a cohesive content calendar that spans social media, email marketing, website, and other digital channels
- Conceptualize and oversee the creation of compelling visuals, graphics, and videos to ensure alignment with brand identity and marketing objectives
- Ensure brand voice and messaging consistency across social media, email campaigns, websites, and any other marketing materials
- Present comprehensive, data-driven content strategies—beyond social media—that incorporate best practices for web, blog, and email marketing
Secondary Responsibilities- Influencer Marketing (10% of work week)
- Develop Influencer Campaigns aligned with client goals and objectives.
- Identify Influencers using Upfluence and other tools to target the right audience.
- Build & Manage Relationships with influencers, ensuring smooth communication.
- Negotiate Contracts and manage deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with Organic Social & Campaign Teams to align content strategies.
- Track Campaign Performance and adjust strategies based on key metrics.
- Provide Regular Reports to clients, highlighting campaign success and insights.
- Educate Clients on the value of influencer marketing and its impact on brand growth.
- Sell Influencer Marketing Services to existing and potential clients.
- Ensure Campaign Quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Maintain Strong Client Relationships, addressing needs and concerns proactively.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in a social media role, influencer marketing role or a relevant field
- Proven work experience as a social media strategist, social media manager, digital marketing specialist, influencer marketing manager or marketing manager
- A portfolio of work that demonstrates:
- Using social media for brand awareness
- A proven ability to identify a target audience and build content that speaks to that demographic
- Understanding of social media tools such as SproutSocial and Meta
- Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Experience building influencer marketing campaigns
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Ability to manage several social media accounts in a fast-paced environment
- A proven leader and team player
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Management experience is preferred
- Agency experience is preferred
- Influencer Marketing experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience creating multi-channel content strategies (social, email, website, blog)
- Proficiency or strong familiarity with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) to produce or guide the creation of on-brand visual assets
- Strong editorial and copywriting skills, ensuring messaging is brand-consistent and resonates with diverse audiences
- Ability to analyze data and insights to inform content decisions and continuously improve performance across all channels
- A diverse portfolio showcasing social media campaigns, integrated marketing efforts, and (ideally) examples of graphic or video design
