JOB SUMMARY
Provides recreational therapy services appropriate to patients’ needs, utilizing necessary resources to ensure optimal patient care.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Graduation from an accredited recreational therapy school with bachelor’s or entry-level master’s degree
2. Current recreational therapy license in State of Illinois
3. CPR certification
4. Basic English language competence for verbal and written communication in English language
5. Effective interpersonal skills
Pay Rate $25 - $28 per hour
JOB DUTIES
1. Demonstrates the Resilience Healthcare Customer Service Values, which are key in providing quality service to patients and customers.
2. Completes Recreational Therapy Assessments as ordered in order to assess the behavioral and cognitive function of the patients.
3. Administer and interpret Allen Cognitive Level Screening to obtain a quick measure of global cognitive processing capacities, learning potential, and performance abilities and to detect unrecognized or suspected problems related to functional cognition.
4. Participates in the development of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan by identifying goals and interventions to decrease symptoms and assist the patient to improve or maintain his cognitive and/or functioning level.
5. Makes recommendations on the use of assistive devices and adaptations in the environment to meet the patient’s needs.
6. Plan and conduct group activities that improve the patient's social skills.
7. Provides feedback to the physicians and the treatment team on the patient’s progress in attaining treatment goals.
8. Participates in discharge planning by making recommendations for aftercare that will enhance the patient’s function level.
9. Provide support to caregivers and family through patient and family teaching and enhancing their coping skills. *Serves as a resource for other staff members
