What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rotor Technician/Mill Operator position at Louis Allis LLC?
Job Summary
Operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assembles, perform welding, brazing and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
Work Schedule : Monday – Friday 6 : 00 am – 2 : 30 pm.
Work Performed
Setup and operate various machine tools to repair and manufacture mechanical assemblies (horizontal and vertical mills).
Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing.
Lift, tighten, adjust and / or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and / or to observe safety procedures.
Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.
Understand machine lubrication, maintenance and proper operation.
Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and / or president.
Must be able to read drawings / blueprints.
Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals. Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
Build up worm or defective surfaces (i.e. welding up shafts so they can be re-machined).
Using burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials.
Must provide own tools and toolbox.
Qualifications
Preferred level of education / experience : high school diploma.
High school, trade school, vocational / technical school, military, or on-the-job training.
Special Skills
Basic Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and / or president.
Ability to work well with others in a team effort.
