Job Description
The execution department provides all back-office support to a privately held firm involved in the trading and merchandising of agricultural commodities both domestically and internationally. The execution associate performs payables, receivables, and inventory tasks for the grain, oilseeds, and biofuels platforms of the company located in the Kansas City office.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Prepares ticket records for import into the company accounting software
- Processes purchase and sale advances daily
- Processes purchase and sale settlements using the company accounting software daily
- Collects and validates documentation (weight, grade, CoA) required to generate all of the above
- Analyzes contracts
- Reconciles daily inventory between physical location records and accounting software
- Prepares and processes payment batches (checks, PMX, ACH, wire) daily
- Monitors unpaid tickets and deferred payment settlements
- Maintains all records associated with the execution function
- Interacts with government entities (USDA, FDA, FGIS, ect.)
Additional Responsibilities
- Interacts via phone and email with customers to expedite the payment and cash receipt process
- Reconciles differences in payments/invoices with customers’ representatives
- Other job duties that may be assigned
Qualifications
Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
The following is the basic qualification:
- High school diploma.
The following is the preferred qualification:
- Two years of college with some accounting coursework.
Experience
The following is the basic qualification:
- Two years of clerical accounting experience.

- Agricultural industry experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are all required:
- Basic knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and propose solutions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict daily deadlines.
- Extremely thorough and detail oriented.
