Position Overview
The position of Director of Auxiliary Programs, a newly created leadership position, provides oversight of a robust range of auxiliary programs including Before Care, After School Programs, School Year Day Camps, and Summer Camp Programs. It will be the responsibility of the new Director to build upon the high quality of existing programs while seeking new opportunities for growth and expansion. The Director of Auxiliary Programs will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work collaboratively across other departments of the school.
Hours of Work
Monday through Friday; core hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work and occasional travel may be required as job duties demand.
Auxiliary Programs
Before Care provides a free, supervised space where students can start their day in a safe and welcoming environment before classes begin. This program typically opens before classes begin, offering quiet activities and a chance for students to ease into their day.
Aftercare is a paid program available in the afternoons, designed to extend care for students whose families require a later pick-up time. While this program includes supervised activities, its primary focus is to provide a structured environment where students can complete homework, engage in play, or socialize in a safe and friendly environment.
Afterschool Enrichment are fee-based programs for Pre-K through 7th Grade students. These programs provide hands-on experiences in various subjects, such as life skills, creative arts, STEM, music, languages, and physical fitness. Classes are scheduled in convenient after-school sessions, giving students the chance to pursue passions and discover new talents.
School Year Day Camps take place during extended school breaks, offering students engaging and seasonally themed experiences. These camps provide a dynamic extension of our popular Summer Camp programming, delivering hands-on activities designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and fun—all in a structured, supportive environment.
Summer Camp Programs provide various dynamic, age-appropriate experiences designed to engage and inspire students throughout the summer. Pre-K through 8th-grade students can participate in specialized workshops, academic support programs, athletic camps, and a Counselor-in-Training program.
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Program Development
Design and oversee dynamic programs that align with the school’s mission, support enrollment goals, and contribute to annual and long-term revenue goals.
Ensure all summer and auxiliary program participants have a safe and positive experience.
Ensure that the Auxiliary Programs’ financial performance meets or exceeds budgeted expectations.
Effectively promote the programs to achieve the enrollment and revenue targets.
Ensure that the administration of auxiliary programs is efficient and effective.
In coordination with the Human Resources Department, hire and manage to build a qualified, effective, and customer-focused team.

Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Program Development
Design and oversee dynamic programs that align with the school’s mission, support enrollment goals, and contribute to annual and long-term revenue goals.
- Strategically evaluate, refine, and, when appropriate, expand summer and auxiliary programs to meet the diverse developmental needs—physical, emotional, intellectual, and social—of current and prospective participants
- Assess and establish partnerships with local organizations and businesses to enhance program offerings and community engagement
- Collaborate with school leadership, administration, and faculty to ensure all summer and auxiliary programs align with the school’s mission and educational philosophy
- Explore opportunities to leverage the school’s intellectual and physical resources for program development and growth
Ensure all summer and auxiliary program participants have a safe and positive experience.
- Oversee ongoing curriculum development for all summer and enrichment programs in coordination with program staff
- Provide ongoing supervision and support of all faculty and staff of auxiliary programs, including any third-party providers
- Lead and oversee safety protocols and security measures, ensuring a secure and efficient environment for students, staff, and visitors established by the School’s crisis management committee
Ensure that the Auxiliary Programs’ financial performance meets or exceeds budgeted expectations.
- Prepare annual budget covering all aspects of program expenses and revenues to ensure profitability; work closely with the business office
- Coordinate with the Business Office to monitor revenues and expenses in accordance with budgetary restrictions for bottom line performance across all programs
- Continually strive to generate and grow net revenue in support of the school
Effectively promote the programs to achieve the enrollment and revenue targets.
- In coordination with the Marketing department, develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for all auxiliary programs
- Ensure that auxiliary programs have an effective and accurate web presence, including the website and social media
- Plan and coordinate the publishing and advertising of marketing documents, both digital and print
Ensure that the administration of auxiliary programs is efficient and effective.
- Coordinate and organize registration processes for summer and auxiliary programs (i.e. rosters, processing of forms and confirmation letters, parent communication, etc.)
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive summer and auxiliary program database
In coordination with the Human Resources Department, hire and manage to build a qualified, effective, and customer-focused team.
- Manage year round auxiliary program employees
- Recruit, hire, and train all summer and auxiliary program seasonal and part time employees
- Coordinate and communicate payroll as needed with the HR Department
- Maintain a commitment to student and employee diversity
- Cultivate a professional network of colleagues at other institutions to serve as a resource for new ideas
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and the Head of School

- Bachelor’s degree is required
