Title: Line Inspector
Department: Copy Paper Division
Location: 1107 Burt Street
Wage Category: Non-Exempt
Report To: Assistant Director, Copy Paper
Overview: The Line Inspector is responsible for ensuring the production output meets the required quality standards of the Louisiana Association for the Blind (L.A.B.).
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Inspect unwrapped reams of copy paper for misaligned and defective sheets and ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure reams are in satisfactory condition before allowing them to be wrapped.
- Weigh and rework unacceptable reams.
- Operate conveyor controls when required.
- Report any defects to the machine operator to ensure that corrective measures are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance the overall quality and safety of processes.
- Recommend improvements to enhance the quality of products.
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for extended periods with light to moderate lifting.
- Ability to operate conveyor controls when needed.
- Background in production or assembly line work is helpful but not required.
- Basic understanding of quality control procedures.
