Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The MOT Manager is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by planning, implementing, and overseeing traffic control measures on construction sites, roadworks, or events, ensuring that traffic flow is maintained safely while also providing protection for workers and pedestrians.
LOCATION
This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, reviews, and approves traffic control plans (TCPs) that comply with local, state, or national regulations.
- Works closely with engineers, project managers, and safety officers to ensure the plan addresses all potential hazards and provides safe traffic diversions according to MUTCD and all other applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensures that traffic flow is maintained smoothly, even during disruptions such as lane closures, detours, or road blockages.
- Coordinates with local authorities to minimize traffic congestion and impact on the community.
- Oversees the proper installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices (e.g., signs, barricades, cones, lights).
- Ensures that all devices meet safety standards and are visible, clear, and in the right locations.
- Ensures that all workers and the public are safe and informed about changes in traffic patterns.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor traffic control setups and make adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare reports, field observations, DOTD reports, and other required reports and documents per Comprehensive Agreement, Technical Provisions, MUTCD, and any applicable law or requirement.
- Respond promptly to any accidents or incidents related to traffic management, adjusting plans to prevent further issues.
- Serve as a liaison between the public and the project team, responding to concerns or complaints regarding traffic management.
- Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies such as accidents, vehicle breakdowns, or changes in road conditions.
- Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
- Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum, the MOT Manager must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 10 years of Traffic Control experience within large-scale civil construction projects, as well as proven, proficient, knowledge with MUTCD, scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera experience or Excel, and a valid and current driver’s license.
